The Cebu provincial government has opened up to 5,900 scholarship slots for tertiary education this year, coinciding with the recognition of scholars who graduated with Latin honors.
Under the program managed by the governor's office and provincial officials, the slots are distributed as follows:
- The governor's office has allocated 2,500 slots.
- The vice governor's office has 1,500 slots.
- The 19 provincial board members each have 100 slots, totaling 1,900.
Currently, the Capitol announced that there are still 1,000 slots available and open for incoming first-year college students for the upcoming academic year.
Governor Pamela Baricuatro stated on June 9, 2026, that she takes great pride in continuing this initiative.
Each scholar receives P10,000 in financial assistance. To remain in the program, students must enroll in a four-year course at a State University or College (SUC) or any public higher education institution, and maintain a grade of no less than 85 percent.
Alongside the launch of the new scholarship phase, the Capitol also congratulated the scholars who recently completed their courses.
