Two brothers died while two women were injured after their multicab crashed into a house along the national highway in Barangay Dakit, Badian town at around 3:18 p.m. on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
Victims Identified
The fatalities were identified as Arturo Aranda, 64, married, who was the driver of the multicab and a resident of Barangay Tubod, Barili, and his younger brother Andres Aranda, 56, who lived with a partner in Tuburan. They were declared dead on arrival at the Barili town hospital.
The injured were Vergita Aranda, 60, from Barangay Tubod, and Roselyn Arcillas, 48, from Tuburan. They were rushed to the hospital for treatment.
Investigation Findings
Based on initial police investigation, the victims were on their way home from Barangay Mayana, Barili. Upon reaching the area, the multicab suddenly lost its brakes.
As a result, Arturo lost control of the steering wheel, causing the vehicle to directly crash into a house by the roadside.
Due to the force of the impact, the brothers sustained severe body injuries that led to their deaths.
Meanwhile, the two injured women are now in stable condition.
