The local government unit (LGU) of Angeles City and the Hotels and Restaurants Association of Pampanga (HARP) are strengthening coordination to assist establishments affected by the building collapse in the commercial district of Barangay Balibago.
Meeting Between HARP and City Officials
Representatives from HARP recently met with officials from the City Tourism Office and the City Legal Office as part of the city government's efforts to support businesses impacted by the tragedy. The dialogue focused on providing guidance and assistance to hospitality establishments in the area, addressing concerns related to business operations, and identifying measures to help mitigate the incident's impact.
Mayor's Directive for Assessment
Earlier, Mayor Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II directed the Angeles City Tourism Office, through the Angeles City Tourist Information and Visitors Engagement (ACTIVE) team, to assess the condition and welfare of business establishments operating within the affected area. The assessment aims to ensure that businesses receive the necessary support to recover and continue operations.
Collaborative Efforts for Recovery
The strengthened coordination between the LGU and HARP underscores the commitment to helping affected establishments navigate the aftermath of the collapse. Both parties are working together to streamline assistance, provide clear guidance on regulatory requirements, and explore long-term solutions to prevent similar incidents in the future.
The city government has assured that it will continue to monitor the situation and extend all possible aid to businesses and residents affected by the disaster.
