TNT Tropang 5G import Bol Bol has been ruled out for the remainder of the PBA Season 50 Commissioner's Cup after suffering a partial Achilles tear during Game 2 of the semifinal series against the Meralco Bolts.
Team manager Jojo Lastimosa confirmed the diagnosis on Saturday, May 23, 2026, following an MRI conducted at a local hospital. The 7-foot-3 former NBA player sustained the injury in the first quarter of Friday night's game at the Mall of Asia Arena.
With 2:38 remaining in the opening period, Bol drove to the basket but landed awkwardly, immediately clutching his left heel. He was carried off the court and rushed to the hospital for an urgent MRI, which revealed the partial tear.
Bol was averaging impressive numbers in his first PBA stint: 24.8 points, 13.5 rebounds, 3.2 blocks, and 2.3 assists per game. His absence is a significant blow to TNT's championship aspirations in the mid-season conference.
The Tropang 5G now face an uphill battle against the Meralco Bolts, who lead the best-of-five semifinal series. No replacement import has been announced as of press time.
