MOALBOAL continued its impressive performance on the second day of the Calderon Cup, securing two hard-fought victories against Dumanjug and host Badian in the ongoing Calderon Cup Under-21 Girls' Volleyball Tournament held in Badian on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
Victory Over Dumanjug
In the match against Dumanjug, Marnie Tapales led Moalboal with seven points, including five attacks and two service aces, powering her team to a 25-13, 25-21 win. Tapales was named Best Player of the Game.
Thrilling Match Against Badian
Moalboal faced its toughest challenge against host Badian, who enjoyed strong hometown support. Moalboal led 23-21 in the first set, but Badian rallied to tie at 23-23 and took a 24-23 lead. A powerful spike from Desiree Sabandal tied the score at 24-24. Both teams exchanged points before Moalboal took a 27-26 lead, and another clutch spike from Sabandal sealed the first set 28-26.
The second set was equally tense, but Moalboal's second unit showed composure and dominance in the closing stretch, winning 25-22 to preserve a perfect 4-0 record. Cecilia Gocotano, who finished with five points, was named Player of the Game.
