Domestic workers in the Zamboanga Peninsula are set to receive monthly minimum wage increases beginning Wednesday, May 20, 2026, according to the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC).
Wage Order RIX-DW-06 Takes Effect
In a statement, the NWPC confirmed that Wage Order RIX-DW-06 is now in effect. The commission noted that the new wage order will cover an estimated 18,984 domestic workers across the region.
Details of the Wage Increases
For chartered cities and first-class municipalities, the Zamboanga Peninsula wage board has granted a PHP 500 pay adjustment, bringing the minimum wage for domestic workers in these areas to PHP 6,000 per month.
For first-class municipalities in Sulu, the minimum wage will increase by PHP 1,000, also reaching a new monthly rate of PHP 6,000.
In other municipalities across the region, domestic workers will receive a PHP 500 pay increase, setting a new minimum wage of PHP 5,500 per month.
The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board 9 (Zamboanga Peninsula) originally issued the wage order on April 16, 2026.
