Joy overflowed for newly licensed teacher Dwight Galolo from Bohol upon learning he successfully passed the Licensure Examination for Professional Teachers (LEPT) for the Secondary Level. The Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) released the results on Thursday, December 18, 2025, marking a monumental achievement in Galolo's life.
From the Track to the Classroom: An Athlete's Journey
For Galolo, earning the right to place "LPT" after his name was a dream realized through significant sacrifice and tough decisions. He leveraged his innate talent as a runner, which became his bridge to a college education at a prestigious university in Cebu. There, he represented his school in various athletic competitions. His life as a student-athlete allowed him to graduate, albeit through periods of sorrow and loneliness being far from his family in Bohol.
To support his educational needs, Galolo employed various resourceful strategies. He ventured into selling different kinds of sports T-shirts and regularly participated in fun run events. The prizes and earnings from these endeavors supplemented his allowance, quite literally using his physical strength and effort as his capital.
Strategic Pause and Preparation for the LEPT
After graduation, Galolo did not immediately take the licensure examination. He chose to work first, seek rest, and gain practical experience. He found employment at a private school in Bohol, joined dance contests, and served as a running trainer, continually using his talents to earn a living.
After several months, once he had saved enough money, Galolo returned to Cebu to focus on reviewing for the LEPT. He was determined to pass the challenging exam in a single take. When the results were finally published, his heart swelled with happiness seeing his name listed among the successful passers.
A New Chapter as a Licensed Professional Teacher
Now a licensed professional teacher, Dwight Galolo looks forward to broader opportunities in the field of education. He expresses profound gratitude to his parents, friends, and above all, to God for His constant guidance. All the sacrifices and hard work endured over the years have now clearly borne fruit.
His story stands as a powerful inspiration for the youth in his community and beyond, proving that dreams are attainable through relentless effort, perseverance, and faith.
