The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) reported that over PHP 117 million worth of aid has been distributed to families affected by the ongoing unrest of Mayon Volcano in Albay. According to the DSWD, the assistance includes more than 71,000 family food packs, thousands of non-food items, and ready-to-eat food packs for evacuees. The agency also provided cash-for-work assistance to over 3,400 beneficiaries, including farmers who lost their livelihoods due to volcanic activity. Additionally, an emergency cash transfer of over PHP 10,000 per family was allocated to address the immediate needs of internally displaced persons (IDPs). Currently, more than 1,400 families remain in 14 evacuation centers in Albay, while the DSWD continues to coordinate with local governments to ensure proper conditions in evacuation sites. According to PHIVOLCS, Mayon Volcano's activity persists, including ash emissions and pyroclastic density currents caused by lava collapse.
