Pampanga Bolsters Defenses Ahead of Super Typhoon

In a proactive move to safeguard residents, Vice Governor Dennis “Delta” Pineda conducted a critical inspection of the province's disaster response equipment on Saturday, November 9, 2025. The inspection was a direct response to the impending threat of Super Typhoon Uwan, with the official assuring the public that the provincial government's full logistics and manpower are on standby for deployment.

Equipment and Personnel on High Alert

The vice governor personally checked the readiness of fire trucks, dump trucks, rescue boats, and other essential disaster response assets at the Provincial Engineering Office (PEO) compound. The primary goal was to verify that all equipment is in optimal working condition for any emergency operations that may be required. Pineda also took the opportunity to instruct rescue personnel to strictly adhere to safety protocols during their missions.

Real-Time Monitoring and Community Preparedness

To ensure a coordinated response, the Provincial Command and Control Center has been officially activated. This center is now conducting real-time tracking of the typhoon's progress and monitoring the situation in coastal barangays through the Capitol's integrated CCTV system. Meanwhile, at the grassroots level, village officials in Barangay San Juan Baño, located at the foot of Mt. Arayat, have not been idle. They have conducted virtual tests of early warning devices, including sirens. Additionally, barangay and municipal leaders have checked the landslide sensors installed on the mountain to anticipate any potential ground movement.
