Typhoon Inday continues to intensify as it moves north-northwest over the Philippine Sea, prompting the hoisting of Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) No. 2 over parts of the northernmost Luzon.

As of 5 p.m. on Friday, July 10, 2026, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) reported the center of Typhoon Inday was located 525 kilometers east-northeast of Itbayat, Batanes. The typhoon packs maximum sustained winds of 140 kilometers per hour (km/h) near the center, with gusts reaching up to 170 km/h, moving at a speed of 20 km/h.

Areas Under Signal No. 2 and No. 1

Under Signal No. 2 are Batanes, the eastern portion of Babuyan Islands, and the northeastern part of Cagayan. Meanwhile, Signal No. 1 is hoisted over the rest of Babuyan Islands and Cagayan, as well as Isabela, Apayao, northern Abra, Kalinga, eastern Mountain Province, eastern Ifugao, and Ilocos Norte.

Expected Path and Exit

Inday is expected to pass closest to the northernmost part of Luzon from Friday evening to early Saturday morning. The typhoon is forecast to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Saturday morning or afternoon as it heads toward the southern islands of Japan and mainland China.
