The death toll from the devastating Typhoon Tino has reached a tragic 232 individuals, according to an official announcement from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. The province of Cebu suffered the most significant loss of life, accounting for 150 of the confirmed fatalities.

Regional Breakdown and Missing Persons

The catastrophic storm impacted a wide swath of the country, with other regions reporting substantial casualties. The official figures are as follows: 42 deaths in Negros Occidental, 21 in Negros Oriental, six in Agusan del Sur, and three in Capiz. Several other provinces, including Dinagat Island, Southern Leyte, Leyte, Antique, Iloilo, Guimaras, and Bohol, also recorded fatalities.

Compounding the tragedy, the OCD reported that 112 people remain missing. The search continues for 57 individuals in Cebu, 50 in Negros Occidental, and five in Negros Oriental. Furthermore, the typhoon left 523 people injured across the affected areas.

Widespread Destruction and Economic Damage

The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) detailed the extensive damage in its latest situational report. The agricultural sector suffered a severe blow, with losses exceeding P157.9 million. The damage to infrastructure was even more costly, climbing to P179.6 million, particularly in the Mimaropa, Western Visayas, and Caraga regions.

The typhoon's fury also destroyed or damaged a vast number of homes. The agency recorded 134,949 damaged houses and 20,510 houses completely destroyed, leaving countless families homeless.

Massive Population Impact and Relief Efforts

The scale of the disaster is immense. The NDRRMC stated that Typhoon Tino affected 1.1 million families, equivalent to 4.1 million individuals, across nearly 8,000 barangays. The affected regions include Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol, Western Visayas, Negros Island, Central Visayas, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga.

In response, the government and aid agencies have mobilized significant resources. Over P324 million worth of assistance has already been provided to the affected population. Due to the severity of the situation, 111 cities and municipalities have declared a state of calamity to expedite relief and rehabilitation efforts.
