Vivant Sends Water Aid to Cebu After Typhoon Tino

Emergency Water Response Activated for Typhoon-Hit Cebu

In a crucial response to the devastation caused by Typhoon Tino, Vivant Water and Vivant Foundation have mobilized water tankers to deliver desperately needed desalinated water to affected communities across Cebu. The relief operation, initiated on November 10, 2025, targets areas experiencing severe water shortages due to extensive damage to water infrastructure.

Critical Infrastructure Damage Worsens Water Crisis

The powerful typhoon brought intense rainfall and triggered landslides that severely damaged pipelines, wellfields, and water transmission systems throughout the province. Compounding the crisis, widespread power outages have disrupted water utility operations, creating critical supply shortages affecting numerous communities.

The desalinated water is being transported from the Isla Mactan Desalination Plant for distribution in multiple locations including Cebu City, Lapulapu City, Danao City, Liloan, Talisay, and Mandaue City. This strategic approach ensures that residents in the hardest-hit areas receive potable water during the recovery period.

Collaborative Relief Effort Brings Essential Supplies

The successful water delivery and distribution operation has been made possible through a coordinated partnership between multiple organizations. Local government units (LGUs), the Philippine Coast Guard, and the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers – Cebu Chapter have joined forces with Vivant to address the emergency.

Additional support comes from the Cebu Mandaue Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Inc., the Cebu Provincial Government, and Vivant's long-term partner Treasure Island Packaging Corporation (iPak). This collaborative network has enabled efficient distribution despite challenging post-typhoon conditions.

Beyond water assistance, Vivant Foundation is also providing relief packs to various affected areas, including Cebu City, Consolacion, Toledo, Asturias, and Daanbantayan. These comprehensive relief efforts demonstrate Vivant's ongoing commitment to supporting Cebuanos during times of difficulty and natural disasters.
