In an era where music consumption often boils down to fleeting ten-second snippets and playlists replace albums, three musical acts from Cebu are set to bring their full-length artistry to Manila. Coloura, The Rising Tide, and Keith Human—collectively dubbed the Three Amigos—will perform a series of shows under the guidance of independent label Melt Records, offering audiences a taste of the Queen City of the South's vibrant music scene.
Coloura: Pop-Rock with a Mission
Jake Relacion of Coloura expressed the band's excitement about their Manila debut. "It's such an honor for us to represent Cebu alongside The Rising Tide and Keith Human and to share the stage with bands like Irrevocable, Tidal, and Lara," he said. The band looks forward to exploring the city, meeting new people, and connecting with listeners who resonate with their music. "We're also planning to arrive a day early to check out food and coffee spots. Food is life!" Relacion added with a laugh.
Keith Human: A Dream Realized
For folk-rock artist Keith Human, the Manila shows feel surreal. "It's like your inner child is hyping up your present self, and your present self is still in disbelief," he shared. Performing on stages where his favorite OPM bands are regulars is a pinch-me moment. He hopes the audience enjoys their set and leaves with an impression that echoes Andre 3000's words: "The South's got something to say."
The Rising Tide: Proud to Represent Cebu
Members of The Rising Tide, a heavy-tune outfit, echoed similar sentiments. Vince Garces stated, "We're proud to represent Cebu and share our music in Manila. It's also humbling—we hope it helps shine more light on Cebuano artists." Dave Orat added, "Playing in another city is always a joy, especially Manila where the main scene of the Philippines is. I feel excited every time we play there and happy that we actually get to meet new people."
The three acts aim to captivate Manila audiences with their distinct sounds—Coloura's pop-rock, The Rising Tide's powerful heaviness, and Keith Human's emotional folk-rock rooted in everyday life. As they step onto stages in the capital, they carry with them the spirit of Cebuano music, ready to make an impression in a fast-paced listening world.
