The agency announced on Monday, December 1, 2025, that it will provide crucial educational assistance to the victim's son.
Immediate Support for the Bereaved Family
OWWA Administrator personally assured the grieving family of the government's unwavering support. The primary focus is on securing the future of the deceased worker's child through the Education and Livelihood Assistance Program (ELAP). This program is designed to help dependents of OFWs in crisis continue their schooling.
"We have assured the family of the government's continued assistance," an OWWA representative stated. The agency also encouraged the son to persevere in his studies, emphasizing that completing his education would fulfill his mother's dreams for him.

The agency reiterated its commitment to ensuring that the family of Maryan Pascual Esteban, an active OWWA member from Cainta, Rizal, receives all benefits entitled to them. "The government assures her family that they would receive all the benefits available to them," the statement read.
Furthermore, OWWA is taking immediate action to bring Esteban home. "The government will endeavor to immediately repatriate her remains to the Philippines and will assist the family in all necessary processes," the agency confirmed.
