The 103rd Infantry "Haribon" Brigade commenced the year 2026 with a ceremony honoring soldiers who have reached significant career milestones. The event, held during the unit's first flag-raising ceremony on Monday, January 12, 2026, at Kampo Ranao in Marawi City, Lanao del Sur, paid tribute to dedication and service.

A Solemn Tribute to Service and Sacrifice

The program began with the traditional hoisting of the national flag, a symbol of unity and the Brigade's pledge to the nation. The core of the event was the recognition of personnel for their various contributions. A poignant moment was the tribute to two retiring non-commissioned officers: Technical Sergeant Loue Baybayan and Staff Sergeant Ben Ali Musor. The Brigade lauded their years of faithful and dedicated service to the Armed Forces of the Philippines.

In an official statement, the 103Bde highlighted that their professionalism and sacrifices greatly boosted the unit's operational effectiveness and helped promote peace and stability within their area of responsibility.

Celebrating New Ranks and Fresh Assignments

The ceremony also celebrated career progression. Senior Master Sergeant Melchor Baylosis and Private First Class Gay Marie Dela Rosa were honored for their recent promotions. This step marks a key point in their military journey, reflecting their competence and exemplary performance.

Furthermore, the Brigade formally welcomed four new members to its ranks: Staff Sergeant Joshua Zapanta, Sergeant Roldan Maghanoy, Sergeant Alger Labuca, and Corporal Joshua Gayloa. The command expressed confidence that these newly assigned personnel would positively contribute to the unit's missions and cohesion.

Farewell to Reassigned Leaders

Recognition was also extended to three officers reassigned to other units. The Brigade thanked Lieutenant Colonel Benjie Negranza, Captain Mark Joseph Rante, and Second Lieutenant Geneva Grace San Pascual for their dedicated service and leadership during their tenure with the "Haribon" Brigade. The event included the donning of new ranks, pinning of unit patches, and the awarding of command plaques.

Representing Brigadier General Billy Dela Rosa, the 103Bde commander, Colonel Ian Noel Ignes, the deputy commander, conveyed appreciation to all honorees. He expressed strong confidence that both incoming and remaining personnel would continue to uphold the core values of Honor, Service, and Patriotism, maintaining the high standards for which the Brigade is known.
