PRO-7 Intensifies Anti-Drug Campaign with Over 800 Arrests and P31 Million in Seizures

In a significant crackdown on illegal narcotics, the Police Regional Office (PRO)-7 in Central Visayas apprehended more than 800 drug suspects throughout February 2026, while also seizing illegal drugs valued at approximately P31 million. This aggressive operation aligns with the directive from Police General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. to strengthen the campaign against illegal drugs under the enhanced managing police operations (EMPO) framework.

Massive Drug Haul and Arrests in Central Visayas

Law enforcement authorities in Central Visayas successfully confiscated 4,635.34 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated standard drug price of P31,520,312. Additionally, they arrested 792 individuals linked to illegal drug activities. These seizures and arrests were conducted through a variety of tactical methods, including buy-bust operations, police response initiatives, checkpoints, and the execution of warrants of arrest and search warrants.

Police Brigadier General Redrico Maranan, the chief of PRO-7, emphasized the unwavering commitment of the police force in eradicating illegal drugs from the region. "We will continue to intensify our operations against individuals involved in the illegal drug trade. Illegal drugs destroy lives and communities, and we will not allow criminal elements to operate freely in our region. PRO7 remains fully committed to eliminating illegal drug substances and ensuring the safety and security of every community in Central Visayas," stated Maranan.
