Cortes Statement on Supreme Court Resolution
In a statement, Cortes announced that the High Court ordered the respondents to submit their response within the prescribed period concerning his petition, including his request for the issuance of a Temporary Restraining Order (TRO).
Cortes said the development shows that the complaints he raised in his protest are being seriously considered and will undergo thorough scrutiny by the nation's highest judicial body.
Significant Step Forward
"This is a significant step forward. It proves that the issues we have raised are being given serious attention and are now set to be fully heard and examined at the highest level of our judicial system," Cortes stated.
He added that the resolution has strengthened his confidence in the rule of law and the legal processes designed to protect the will of the people. Cortes emphasized that he has always believed the truth must be pursued through the proper legal channels.
The latest action by the Court provides his camp an opportunity to present their arguments clearly while allowing the tribunal to evaluate the case based on facts and law.
