Police authorities in Lamitan City, Basilan demonstrated remarkable efficiency by apprehending two individuals involved in motorcycle theft mere hours after the criminal incident took place on Saturday, November 8, 2025.

According to official statements released on Monday, November 10, 2025, the Lamitan City police force successfully conducted separate law enforcement operations that resulted in the capture of both suspects connected to the motorcycle theft case.

Identification and Arrest of Suspects

Police Lieutenant Colonel Elmer Solon, who serves as the Lamitan City police chief, provided details about the arrested individuals. The suspects were identified as alias Kidlat, aged 19, and alias Anami, aged 27. Both men are residents of Maluso town in Basilan province.

The police operation unfolded with precision throughout Saturday. Kidlat was apprehended first at approximately 2 p.m. during a follow-up operation conducted in Balagtasan village, Lamitan City. His alleged accomplice, Anami, didn't remain at large for long, as authorities captured him around 5 p.m. the same day in Fuente village, Maluso.

Timeline of the Crime and Recovery

The criminal incident began when Dodong Pakaral, a 46-year-old Indigenous People's representative from Limo-ok village, Lamitan City, reported to police that his motorcycle had been stolen around 8 a.m. on Saturday, November 8.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Solon explained that immediately upon receiving the report, they launched coordinated follow-up operations with other police units. This inter-agency cooperation proved crucial in tracking down the suspects and recovering the stolen property.

The successful operation led to the recovery of the stolen motorcycle in Cabunbata village, Isabela City, which serves as the capital of Basilan province. The recovery occurred on the same Saturday, completing a rapid resolution to the criminal case.

Both suspects are currently detained while authorities prepare to file appropriate criminal charges against them for their alleged involvement in the motorcycle theft.
