Mayor Frasco Denies Allegations of Blocking Relief Operations
Liloan Mayor Aljew Jordan Frasco has publicly denied allegations circulating on social media that the local government unit blocked trucks carrying relief goods from the Cebu Provincial Government. The claims suggested that the municipal government prevented the trucks from entering Azalea Subdivision in Barangay Cotcot, an area affected by a recent typhoon.
Official Statement and Clarification
In a statement posted on his official Facebook page on Monday, November 10, 2025, Mayor Frasco firmly stated that his office never issued any such directive. "This is not true. As the mayor, I did not order anyone to block or require a permit from the Province of Cebu or any group to enter the typhoon-affected areas," he said in Cebuano. He used his social media platform to directly address and counter the false information.
Evidence of Coordination and Received Aid
To substantiate his denial, Mayor Frasco provided details of the ongoing coordination between the Municipal Government and the Capitol. He revealed that on Sunday, November 9, he personally received medical supplies from the Province at the Mayor's Office, which were delivered by a representative from the Office of the Governor. Furthermore, he confirmed that another batch of medicines was delivered and received by his office on Monday, November 10.
Frasco reiterated that all assistance is welcome in Liloan, especially since the municipality has been actively calling for public support for those affected by the typhoon. He urged the public to report any individuals who may be unlawfully preventing aid from reaching the victims and assured that his office would investigate such reports to ensure the smooth flow of relief operations.
