Cebu City Police Arrests 134 Suspects in Anti-Crime Drive

The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) arrested 134 suspected criminals during a week-long anti-crime operation from April 20 to 26, 2026, according to data released by Police Colonel George Ylanan, CCPO chief.

Arrests by Category

Leading the list of arrests were those involved in illegal gambling, with 58 individuals apprehended in 27 operations. This was followed by the campaign against illegal drugs, where 49 drug personalities were arrested in 46 operations. Police confiscated an estimated PHP 1,792,208 worth of illegal drugs.

In terms of wanted persons, 22 individuals were captured, including four identified as “Most Wanted Persons” facing charges of murder, homicide, robbery, and rape. Additionally, five people were found in possession of seven unlicensed firearms.

Safer Cities Initiative

Simultaneously, the CCPO intensified its “Safer Cities Initiative” in coordination with the city government, resulting in over 4,000 individuals being cited for ordinance violations. Among these, 1,543 were traffic violators, 762 minors were rescued from curfew violations, and hundreds were cited for drinking, smoking, and undressing in public places. A total of 1,609 individuals were issued citation tickets, while 2,450 received warnings.

Ylanan attributed the success to strong operational discipline and the police force’s commitment to ensuring public safety throughout the city.
