According to police reports, the suspect is Renato Amaba, 44, also a farmer and married, who resides in the same area. He is now detained at the Dalaguete Police Station, facing a parricide case. Police Major Vincent Zozobrado stated that based on witness accounts from neighbors of the Amaba family, a commotion was heard during the incident.

The victim's wife, Veronica, sought help from neighbors as the suspect continued to punch his father in the head multiple times. Ignacio Amaba, overwhelmed by the force of the attack, was unable to defend himself against his son's blows. A witness attempted to intervene and stop the suspect, but Renato Amaba ignored the pleas and persisted in the beating until the victim lost consciousness.
