The Kilusang Mayo Uno (KMU) will hold massive protests on Labor Day, May 1, according to KMU chairman Jerome Adonis. The group, together with the Bagong Alyansang Makabayan, will march from Espana Boulevard to Mendiola in Manila.
Nationwide Protests
Aside from Manila, protests will also be held across Central Luzon, Calabarzon, Bicol, Negros, Cebu, Panay, and Davao. The groups are calling for wage increases, lower prices of goods, and sufficient subsidies from the government due to the ongoing energy crisis.
Demands and Statements
Adonis added that they will express their anger towards Malacañang, accusing the government of killing workers through low wages. The protests aim to pressure the government to address the pressing issues affecting workers nationwide.
