Authorities in Lanao del Norte successfully intercepted illegal drugs valued at approximately P136,000 and recovered a firearm during a targeted law enforcement operation this week. The raid took place on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, in Purok 2, Caniogan village, Tubod.

Operation Details and Seized Items

According to Police Colonel Leo De Leon Sua, the provincial police director, the operation was conducted around 3 p.m. based on a valid search warrant. The target of the warrant, a 36-year-old farmer known only as alias Leo, was not present during the raid of his residence.

During the search, lawmen discovered and confiscated the following items:

  • Approximately 20 grams of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride)
  • Four heat-sealed plastic sachets of various sizes containing the drugs
  • One .45 caliber pistol with ammunition
  • A pouch

The illegal drugs have an estimated street value of P136,000, highlighting the significance of this seizure in the local community.

Legal Consequences and Ongoing Investigation

Despite the suspect's absence during the operation, police authorities are moving forward with legal actions. Charges will be filed against alias Leo for serious violations under Philippine law.

The suspect will face prosecution for breaking the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 and the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. Police Colonel Sua confirmed that manhunt operations are ongoing to locate and apprehend the suspect.
