Authorities in Negros Island Region scored a significant victory in the war on drugs with a major bust in Bacolod City, leading to a substantial seizure and an arrest.

Major Drug Bust Nets High-Value Haul

Operatives from the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) Drug Enforcement Unit conducted a successful buy-bust operation on December 19, 2025. The target was a 42-year-old individual known by the alias "Neneng," a resident of Purok Magtiayon, Barangay 10 in the city.

The suspect was apprehended immediately after she allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover police officer. This initial transaction opened the door for a more significant discovery.

Details of the Seizure and Arrest

Following the arrest, police officers recovered several more plastic sachets from the suspect's possession. The total confiscated substance was approximately 230 grams of suspected shabu, commonly known as methamphetamine.

Law enforcement estimated the street value of the illegal drugs at around P1,564,000. The marked money used in the undercover operation was also successfully retrieved as evidence.

Police Vow Sustained Anti-Drug Campaign

Lieutenant Colonel Joem Malong, chief of the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR) Public Information Office, emphasized the operation's importance. She stated that this accomplishment highlights the region's unwavering momentum in combating illegal substances.

"It serves as a clear reminder that drug-related activities will be confronted at every turn," Malong asserted. She reinforced that police efforts remain firm and uncompromising.

Malong further detailed that PRO-NIR is committed to intensifying its focused operations. The strategy includes strengthening coordination with other agencies and consistently upholding their mandate to protect communities and enforce the law with resolve.

This operation underscores the continuous and determined efforts of Philippine law enforcement to curb the proliferation of dangerous drugs in local communities.
