PRO 7 Intensifies Manhunt, Nabs 100 Wanted Persons in Central Visayas Crackdown
In a significant law enforcement push, the Police Regional Office (PRO 7) in Central Visayas has apprehended nearly 100 individuals with pending warrants of arrest during a reinforced manhunt operation spanning from March 8 to 14, 2026. This aggressive campaign, part of the Philippine National Police's focused agenda, targeted a range of criminal activities, resulting in multiple arrests and seizures across the region.
Comprehensive Crime Crackdown Yields Major Results
Alongside the arrests of wanted persons, PRO 7 officers detained 261 additional suspects involved in various crimes, underscoring the operation's broad scope. Among the 94 individuals identified as wanted throughout the region, ten were listed as most wanted persons, highlighting the priority given to high-profile targets. The operation's success reflects a concerted effort to enhance public safety and curb lawlessness in Central Visayas.
Drugs, Firearms, and Gambling Operations Disrupted
In parallel campaigns, PRO 7 made substantial strides against illegal activities. Against illegal drugs, authorities confiscated 270.33 grams of suspected shabu, with an estimated street value of P1.8 million, dealing a blow to local narcotics networks. Regarding loose firearms, the police seized 38 unlicensed weapons, three explosives, and 90 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, while arresting 13 individuals in connection with these items. In the fight against illegal gambling, PRO 7's intensified efforts led to the apprehension of gamblers and the confiscation of P16,037 in gambling cash, further disrupting illicit operations.
The outcomes of this week-long initiative demonstrate PRO 7's commitment to rigorous law enforcement and community protection in Central Visayas. By targeting wanted persons, drug trafficking, unlicensed firearms, and gambling, the police aim to foster a safer environment and uphold legal standards across the region.
