Cebu Governor Pamela Baricuatro has warned the public to be vigilant against false information spreading about her alleged statement regarding the ongoing impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.
False Information Circulated
The Capitol announced that erroneous information has been circulating, featuring images that falsely show Baricuatro cheering on congressmen who voted during the impeachment trial. The circulating image includes the words “Great job Cebu Congressmen!” which Baricuatro denied as her statement.
Governor's Statement
“Do not be easily swayed by misinformation and politically motivated attacks,” she said on May 12, 2026. In line with this, the Capitol urged the public to be responsible and verify information before sharing or commenting, especially on social media.
Since the resumption of the impeachment trial, Baricuatro has not issued any statement regarding it.
