A high-value target was arrested in a buy-bust operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7, together with the Malubog Police Station 12, on Tuesday evening, May 5, 2026.
Details of the Operation
The operation took place at 8:20 PM in Barangay Babag, a mountainous area in Cebu City. PDEA 7 Director Joel Plaza identified the suspect as alias Darwin, 29, a resident of the same area.
Darwin was considered a major target in the region's campaign against illegal drugs.
Seized Items
Confiscated from the suspect were six packages of suspected shabu weighing 150 grams, with an estimated average market value of P1,020,000, buy-bust money, a smartphone, and other non-drug evidence.
All evidence has been brought to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory for chemical analysis, while the suspect is detained at the PDEA 7 detention facility in Sudlon, Lahug.
Suspect's Operations
It is believed that Darwin could sell 300 to 500 grams of shabu weekly from his contacts.
The PDEA 7 is preparing documents for the filing of cases against the suspect for violation of Section 5 and Section 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
