The full-strength Gilas Pilipinas will depart for Brisbane, Australia on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, for a week-long training camp ahead of the third and final window of the FIBA World Cup Asian qualifiers.
Gilas head coach Tim Cone said the decision to hold the camp in Australia was made to acclimatize the team to the cold weather. “We have a couple of friendlies I think that’s schedule also,” Cone said.
Schedule and Opponents
From Brisbane, Gilas will proceed directly to Auckland to face the host New Zealand Tall Blacks on July 3. Three days later, they will travel to Perth, Australia to take on the host Australia Boomers.
Gilas and the Tall Blacks are tied for second place in Group A with identical 2-2 records, while the Boomers lead with a 4-0 slate. Guam sits at the bottom of the group with an 0-4 record.
