Nabulao Beach Resort Warns Public of Facebook Scam After Page Hack
Nabulao Beach Resort Warns of Facebook Scam

The popular Nabulao Beach Resort in Hinoba-an, Negros Occidental, has issued an urgent public warning after its official Facebook Business Page was compromised by scammers. The resort's management is alerting guests and the public to a sophisticated online fraud operation.

Facebook Page Hacked and Cloned

According to General Manager Christian Atadero, the resort's primary Facebook page, which once boasted over 40,000 followers, was illegally accessed. Following this security breach, the page's name was changed to 'Flow with Soul' and its contact details were altered without permission. However, the resort's original posts remain visible on the timeline.

Days after the initial hack, a separate fraudulent page appeared. This fake page used the exact name Nabulao Beach Resort, along with the resort's official profile and cover photos. It also reposted several videos stolen from the original, compromised account.

Scammers Running Paid Ads and Soliciting Payments

The individuals behind the fake page have been actively running paid advertisements. They falsely represent themselves as the legitimate resort to solicit payments from unsuspecting individuals. Several victims have already reported financial losses after unknowingly transacting with these scammers.

Atadero pointed out that while the fraudulent page may show a large follower count, most are believed to be fake or dummy accounts from various nationalities, created to give a false sense of credibility. A major red flag is that the fake page displays no legitimate contact details, such as an official email address or phone number.

How to Verify and Stay Safe

In response, the resort has created a new, verified Facebook page named 'Nabulao Beach Resort – 2nd Account'. This is now their official platform for announcements, updates, and public awareness.

The management strongly urges the public to exercise extreme caution with online transactions. To ensure authenticity, guests are encouraged to verify through a WhatsApp video call at 0994 861 7120. This step confirms you are communicating with authorized resort staff.

Atadero also disclosed that they are coordinating with the appropriate authorities and digital platforms to address the situation and prevent further incidents. The warning was issued on January 14, 2026.
