Globe Telecom, the Ayala-led telecommunications giant, has announced a remarkable financial performance for the year 2025, posting a net income of P23.3 billion. This achievement caps a record-breaking year characterized by resilient earnings, strong data-led growth, and disciplined capital spending, even amid inflationary pressures and weather-related disruptions that tested the industry.
Record Revenues Fueled by Data and Digital Services
The company delivered record consolidated gross service revenues of P165.1 billion, a significant milestone largely driven by data and digital services. These services accounted for an impressive 88 percent of total revenues, highlighting Globe's successful pivot towards a data-centric business model. Mobile service revenues reached an all-time high of P116.9 billion, supported by increased data usage and broader 5G adoption across the Philippines.
Mobile Data and Home Broadband Show Strong Growth
Mobile data revenues alone climbed to a record P101.2 billion, underscoring the growing reliance on mobile connectivity for everyday activities. In the home broadband segment, revenues stood at P24 billion, with fiber contributing 91 percent of this total as Globe accelerated its shift to fixed fiber connectivity. Notably, GFiber Prepaid ended the year with more than 820,000 subscribers, reinforcing Globe's strategic push into the mass-market broadband space and expanding access to high-speed internet.
Improved Profitability and Efficient Capital Management
Ebitda rose to P87.6 billion, translating to a healthy 53.1 percent margin, which reflects improved operational efficiency and profitability. Meanwhile, capital expenditures fell 18 percent year-on-year to P46.2 billion, enabling positive free cash flow. This disciplined approach to spending allowed Globe to navigate economic headwinds while investing in critical infrastructure.
Network Leadership and Industry Recognition
Globe also strengthened its network leadership in 2025, earning recognition from Ookla for having the most consistent mobile and fixed networks in the country. This accolade underscores the company's commitment to providing reliable and high-quality connectivity, which has been a key driver of customer satisfaction and revenue growth.
Overall, Globe Telecom's 2025 performance demonstrates its ability to thrive in a challenging environment, leveraging data-driven strategies and prudent financial management to set new benchmarks in the Philippine telecommunications sector.
