Five persons under police custody (PUPC) were killed in a vehicular accident involving a police mobile in Quezon City on Friday, April 24, 2026. The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) reported that the incident occurred around 11 a.m. in Barangay Payatas while the detainees were being transported to a jail facility.
Four police personnel were also injured in the crash. According to initial investigations, the mobile's brake malfunctioned before it rammed into a concrete wall. Authorities are conducting further inquiries to determine the exact cause of the brake failure and to assess the circumstances surrounding the incident.
