Cebu Prov'l Gov't Allocates P50M for Mandaue Hospital

Improved healthcare services for Mandaue City residents are anticipated as the Cebu Provincial Government allocates P50 million in financial assistance for medical equipment at Mandaue City Hospital. Governor Pamela Baricuatro announced the aid during the City Government’s flag-raising ceremony on Monday, June 29, 2026, describing it as an initial allocation to enhance healthcare and strengthen provincial-city collaboration.

Provincial Board Approval and Fund Release

The financial assistance was approved through a resolution by the Provincial Board, enabling the documents to be forwarded to the Capitol’s executive department for check processing and release, according to City Councilor Joel Seno. “We approved the process earlier through a resolution, and that is what they need at the Capitol for the release of the check,” Seno said in a mix of Cebuano and English. He emphasized that any amount is a significant help for the hospital’s operations.

Equipment Procurement Details

The funds will be used to procure various hospital equipment, with the City Government handling the purchasing process after fund release. The equipment list includes emergency room equipment, operating room and delivery room equipment, laboratory machines, physical rehabilitation equipment, a portable ultrasound machine, a mobile x-ray unit, a bedside ultrasound with a curvilinear transducer for focused assessment with sonography in trauma examinations, and a BTL 6000 Super Inductive System—a versatile electromagnetic therapy device for various therapeutic applications. Seno noted that the City has been allocating funds for the project in phases based on the hospital’s requirements.
