Residents of Barangay San Nicolas in Floridablanca town were able to purchase rice at ₱20 per kilo on June 22, 2026, through the Kadiwa ng Pangulo Rice Program, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).
Program Implementation and Partners
The DTI said the initiative was implemented through the efforts of the PESO Capitol, the Municipal PESO Office of Floridablanca, and the DTI Pampanga Provincial Office. These agencies collaborated to bring affordable rice directly to the community.
Goal of the Initiative
The Kadiwa ng Pangulo Rice Program is part of broader efforts to make affordable food commodities accessible to local communities. The agency noted that the program allowed residents to buy quality rice at significantly lower prices than market rates, helping ease the financial burden on households.
This initiative is one of many under the Kadiwa ng Pangulo program, which aims to provide direct access to affordable goods by linking producers with consumers, cutting out intermediaries. The DTI encourages other local government units to adopt similar programs to support their constituents.
