The wholesale price of regular milled rice in Cebu increased by 43.5% in April 2026 compared to the same month last year, according to government data. Meanwhile, corn prices surged even higher, rising 76.3% year-on-year.

Rice Price Details

The average wholesale price of regular milled rice in Cebu reached PHP 48.68 per kilogram in April 2026, up from PHP 33.92 per kilogram in April 2025. This is also higher than the national average of PHP 47.24 per kilogram.

Despite the yearly increase, rice prices in Cebu saw a month-on-month decline of 4.6%, dropping from PHP 51.01 in March 2026 to PHP 48.68 in April. This contrasts with the national trend, where rice prices rose by 4.1% during the same period.

Regional Comparison

Cebu's rice prices are higher than those in the National Capital Region (PHP 47.50), Zamboanga Peninsula (PHP 47.61), Eastern Visayas (PHP 47.30), Western Visayas (PHP 43.31), and Negros Island Region (PHP 45.40). However, they remain cheaper compared to Davao Region (PHP 53.93), Caraga (PHP 52.80), Bicol (PHP 50.39), and Northern Mindanao (PHP 49.87).

Corn Price Surge

The wholesale price of white corn grits in Cebu skyrocketed to PHP 63.48 per kilogram in April 2026, up from just PHP 36 in April 2025. From PHP 42.75 per kilogram in March 2026, corn prices jumped by 48.5% in April.
