Cebu Starts P15.4M Oslob Hospital Renovation

The Cebu Provincial Government has commenced a P15.4-million renovation of the Oslob District Hospital on Thursday, May 14, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to modernize its facilities and equipment. The project aims to enhance the quality of healthcare services provided to patients in the southern part of the province.

Scope of Renovations

Planned improvements include extensive repairs to the emergency room, replacement of ceilings, repainting of hospital buildings, and the construction of a dedicated ambulance facility and maintenance building. These upgrades are designed to create a safer and more dignified healing environment for patients.

Capitol Health Consultant Dr. Nikki Catalan emphasized the importance of these improvements. "Better facilities mean better care, greater dignity, and a safer healing environment for every Cebuano," Catalan said.

Background and Inspection Findings

The Province of Cebu manages a network of 16 provincial hospitals. During the early months of Governor Pamela Baricuatro's administration, comprehensive inspections were conducted across all these hospitals to assess their structural condition and identify areas requiring urgent repairs.

Initial findings revealed cracked floors, damaged ceilings, and other structural issues in several facilities. These deficiencies prompted the provincial government to prioritize renovations, starting with the Oslob District Hospital.

The Capitol has announced that other provincial hospitals will also undergo gradual repairs and improvements in the coming months, ensuring that all healthcare facilities meet modern standards and provide optimal care for patients across Cebu.
