The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has finished constructing a two-classroom, single-storey school building in Zamboanga Sibugay, providing much-needed educational infrastructure for the community.

Project Details

According to the DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula, the school building is located in Kahayagan village, Olutanga, Zamboanga Sibugay province. The project was completed on Tuesday, May 12, 2026. While the exact cost was not disclosed, the DPWH confirmed that funding came from the 2025 General Appropriations Act.

The facility has a total floor area of 171 square meters. The DPWH stated that the building is now being used by students and teachers, offering a functional and nurturing environment that helps address classroom shortages in the area.

Community Impact

In a statement, the DPWH-Zamboanga Peninsula emphasized the positive impact of the project: "The completed facility is now being utilized by students and teachers, providing a functional and nurturing environment while helping address classroom shortages in the area.
