DSWD-Davao Aims to Aid 12,000 Delivery Riders

The Department of Social Welfare and Development-Davao Region (DSWD-Davao) has announced its goal to provide Cash Relief Assistance (CRA) to 12,000 service delivery riders across the region. The initiative began on June 1, 2026, with distribution already underway in several areas.

Distribution Schedule and Locations

In Davao City, the distribution started on June 1 and will run until June 6 at the Agdao Public Market. Subsequent distributions are scheduled for June 2 at E-park in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, and June 3 at the covered court in Barangay Dahican, Davao Oriental.

Purpose of the Assistance

DSWD-Davao stated on June 1, 2026, that the Cash Relief Assistance aims to alleviate the financial needs of beneficiaries and provide additional support to enable them to continue their livelihood activities. The department specifically targets workers in the delivery sector who have faced livelihood and operational challenges due to rising fuel prices, a consequence of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

The initiative also recognizes the vital role delivery riders play in ensuring the timely delivery of goods and services within communities.

Program Implementation and Coordination

DSWD-Davao emphasized that it continues to strengthen coordination with partner agencies and stakeholders in implementing the program. The department remains committed to promoting the welfare of workers belonging to vulnerable sectors.

The CRA is a DSWD program designed to help beneficiaries meet their financial needs and sustain their livelihoods. It serves as temporary relief for service delivery riders, enabling them to maintain their ability to meet daily family needs.

Beneficiary Details

Under the program, each beneficiary will receive P5,000 in financial assistance. This amount can be used for essential needs such as food, transportation, and other work-related expenses.

Earlier, DSWD-Davao distributed CRA to tricycle and jeepney drivers in the region, with massive payouts conducted in major cities including Davao, Digos, Tagum, Panabo, and Mati, as well as in provincial areas.
