Ex-Convict Arrested for Drug-Influenced Harassment in Cebu

An ex-convict was taken into custody at the Sawang Calero Police Station 6 after allegedly harassing residents while under the influence of alcohol and illegal drugs. The incident occurred at approximately 10:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 23, 2026, along Gen. Gines St., Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City.

Suspect Identified

Police Captain Noah Añana, chief of the Sawang Calero Police Station, identified the suspect as Aristotle Jurado Debalucos, 40, alias “Batang Tondo,” an ex-convict with a prior drug case and a resident of the area.

According to Añana, they received an alarm from residents seeking help due to the suspect acting erratically, carrying a weapon, and threatening to shoot someone.

Arrest and Seizure

Authorities quickly responded and caught Debalucos holding his weapon. Despite his boldness, the suspect was surprised by the police approach, offering no resistance and was swiftly handcuffed.

Confiscated from the suspect were a caliber 9mm pistol with nine bullets and four grams of suspected shabu valued at P27,200.

Añana stated that the suspect had a dispute with a neighbor and, due to intoxication and drug influence, went on a rampage, seeking to kill his adversary.

Background Investigation

Background checks revealed that Debalucos was previously arrested in 2022 for an illegal drug case and was released in 2024. He was also convicted of his first illegal drug case in 2005 and released in 2011.

The suspect will face charges of alarm and scandal, violation of Republic Act 10591 (Illegal Possession of Firearms and Ammunition), and RA 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002).
