Leading online job portal Jobstreet by SEEK has revealed the latest in-demand jobs in the country, highlighting a surge toward part-time and specialized roles, as well as an increase in remote or hybrid work arrangements. As of the first quarter of 2026, Call Center and Customer Service positions topped the list, accounting for 13.9% of all available jobs on the platform. They were followed by Accounting roles at 12.5% and Information and Communication Technology at 12.4%.
Other In-Demand Roles
Additional roles in high demand include Administration & Office Support (11.8%), Manufacturing, Transport and Logistics (10.7%), Sales (10.3%), Engineering (6.5%), and Retail and Consumer Products (6.3%). Marketing and Communications (5.6%) and Human Resources and Recruitment (5.3%) also made the top ten list.
Trends in Part-Time and Specialized Jobs
Jobstreet by SEEK noted that the top roles have remained generally consistent over the past year, but there has been a remarkable rise in demand for part-time positions and specialized roles such as AI Engineer and Data Analyst. This trend encourages candidates to align their expertise through continued upskilling and reskilling. Part-time roles have grown by 35% year-over-year, with over 4,000 new postings recorded this year. The spike is largely driven by hirers' demand for global talent and the normalization of hybrid or remote work, highlighting an evolving job landscape that prioritizes cost-efficiency and work-life balance.
AI Integration Driving Labor Market Changes
Jobstreet by SEEK also identified AI integration as a primary driver of the labor market. As more companies embed AI into their structures, the career portal forecasts a surge in specialized 'human-in-the-loop' roles. In-demand positions are particularly high for tech and communications experts capable of overseeing and optimizing new AI adaptations.
“The future of work in the Philippines is anchored on trust, augmentation, and continuous upskilling. While AI is fundamentally changing how we work, it’s not a direct replacement of talent. Rather, it is creating emerging roles that require a human overseer for these automated processes, so employees can focus more on high-thinking critical decision making,” said Dannah Majarocon, Jobstreet by SEEK Managing Director in the Philippines.
Job Fair Partnership with DOLE
As part of nationwide efforts to meet this demand for talent, Jobstreet by SEEK has partnered with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) for the 124th Labor Day Job Fair starting May 1. The event brings together over 115,000 job opportunities across 88 job fair sites nationwide. Jobseekers can explore these roles and apply online.
