The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 7, in coordination with the Guadalupe Police Station 9 and the Cebu City Police Office (CCPO), arrested a suspected high-value target (HVT) and seized over PHP850,000 worth of suspected shabu during a buy-bust operation on Monday afternoon, May 4, 2026.
Operation Details
The operation took place at around 1:03 PM in Sitio Susco, Barangay Guadalupe. PDEA 7 Director Joel Plaza identified the suspect as alias "Jovito," 27, a resident of the area. Confiscated from the suspect were 125 grams of suspected shabu valued at approximately PHP850,000, buy-bust money, a cellphone used in the transaction, and other drug paraphernalia.
Evidence and Investigation
The seized evidence has been submitted to the PDEA 7 Regional Office Laboratory for chemical analysis. According to Leia Alcantara, information officer of PDEA 7, the suspect had been under case buildup for a week after they received information from a confidential informant. Investigation revealed that "Jovito" was capable of selling 500 grams to one kilogram of shabu weekly from his supplier.
The suspect is currently detained at the PDEA 7 detention cell in Sudlon, Barangay Lahug. Charges are being prepared for violation of Sections 5 and 11, Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
