According to the Balamban Municipal Police Station investigation, a witness heard a gunshot and saw suspect Rolando Linabog, 54, running while carrying a firearm. Residents shouted, pointing at the suspect as he fled along the highway. They chased and apprehended him, recovering a 9mm revolver with one bullet.
The victim was rushed to Cebu Provincial Hospital in Balamban but was declared dead on arrival.
Linabog confessed that he was ordered by a friend to kill the victim because she owed illegal drugs to his employer, who is currently in prison. He was promised P100,000 for the murder. He received a photo of the victim via a messaging app and traveled to Balamban. Before committing the crime, he was given shabu worth P1,000 to boost his courage.
