The Davao Region continued its impressive medal campaign at the ongoing National Private Schools Athletic Association (Prisaa) Games 2026 in Bacolod City. As of Wednesday, May 13, athletes from the region delivered podium finishes in dancesport, taekwondo, athletics, tennis, swimming, and sepak takraw competitions.
Dancesport Dominance
The standout performance came from the youth standard dancesport duo of Jesteve Eric Almendras and Joelie Mae Catamco. The pair captured six gold medals after ruling the waltz, tango, Viennese waltz, slow foxtrot, and quickstep events. Their dazzling display of skill and coordination earned them top honors in all five dances, contributing significantly to the region's medal tally.
Other Gold Medalists
- Danes Manuel Amos added a gold medal in the youth boys taekwondo featherweight division.
- The youth boys tennis team also captured a gold medal finish.
Track and Field Success
In athletics, Jenny Dalagan won gold in the youth girls' long jump and added a silver medal in the triple jump event. Janel Cabiles secured silver in the youth girls' 1,500-meter race.
