Zamboanga City Breaks Ground on Major 22-Hectare Poultry Complex

In a significant development for local agriculture, Zamboanga City has officially launched the construction of a 22-hectare poultry complex in Sinubong village. This ambitious project, known as the Mega CP Farms-Layer Complex, is poised to become a cornerstone of regional food security efforts, with its groundbreaking ceremony held on Friday, March 20, 2026.

Project Aims to Expand Poultry Production and Strengthen Food Supply

The City Government Public Information Office (PIO) has outlined that the primary objective of this facility is to substantially expand poultry production capacity. By developing a large-scale layer farm, the complex will play a crucial role in strengthening sustainable food supply systems not only within Zamboanga City but also in surrounding areas.

Construction is projected to be completed within an eight to ten-month timeframe, signaling a rapid advancement toward operational status. Once functional, the poultry farm is expected to deliver multiple benefits, including a significant increase in egg production, the creation of numerous employment opportunities, and assistance in stabilizing local food prices.
