Initial investigation revealed that the suspect worked as a laundrywoman and was caring for her eight grandchildren, left in her care by her children who were unemployed. Aside from the small amount of financial assistance she received, this was reportedly one of the reasons she entered the illegal activity.

The Guadalupe Police Station is preparing to file charges against the suspect for violation of Section 5 (Sale of Illegal Drugs) and Section 11 (Possession of Illegal Drugs), Article II of Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
