The Philippine government successfully sold three luxury vehicles through a public auction conducted by the Bureau of Customs on Thursday, November 20, 2025, generating significant revenue for the national treasury.
Auction Results Exceed Expectations
Among the seven luxury vehicles recovered from contractors Pacifico and Sarah Discaya, three high-end automobiles found new owners during the competitive bidding process. The auction saw enthusiastic participation from both individual and corporate bidders, with final selling prices substantially exceeding the original floor prices.
The Mercedes-Benz G500 (2019) Brabus attracted significant attention, eventually selling for P15,500,000 despite having an initial floor price of just P7,843,239.43. This represents nearly double the starting bid amount, demonstrating strong market interest in premium vehicles.
Luxury Vehicles Command Premium Prices
Another standout performer was the Mercedes-Benz G63 AMG (2022), which was acquired by Simplex Industrial for P15,611,710. The vehicle had opened with a bid price of P14,104,768, indicating robust competition among potential buyers.
The Lincoln Navigator (2022) also found a new home with Lestrell Jewelries, selling for P7,100,000 after starting at P7,038,726.14. The successful sale of these three vehicles alone generated approximately P38.2 million for government coffers.
Unsold Vehicles and Future Plans
Not all vehicles presented at the auction found buyers during Thursday's event. Four luxury automobiles remained unsold, including a Toyota Tundra 2022 model, Toyota Sequoia 2023 model, Rolls-Royce Cullinan 2023 model, and Bentley Bentayga 2022 model.
Prior to the auction, the Bureau of Customs had projected total collections of P103,865,125.97 from the entire lot of seven vehicles. While this target wasn't fully achieved with the initial auction, the BOC may conduct subsequent bidding events for the remaining vehicles.
BOC Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno provided assurance that all proceeds from the successful sales would be properly remitted to the national treasury. This commitment reinforces the government's transparency in handling assets recovered through legal processes.
The auction represents ongoing efforts by Philippine authorities to convert seized assets into public funds, ensuring that recovered properties benefit the national economy rather than remaining idle in government storage facilities.
