Cebu South Bus Terminal Moves to SRP for Sinulog 2026 Weekend
CSBT Temporarily Relocates to SRP for Sinulog Weekend

The Cebu Provincial Government has announced a significant temporary relocation of bus terminal operations to accommodate one of the province's biggest religious and cultural events. The Cebu South Bus Terminal (CSBT) on N. Bacalso Avenue will suspend its regular operations for two days, moving its functions to the Cebu South Road Properties (SRP).

Schedule and Reason for the Temporary Move

This temporary transfer is scheduled from Saturday, January 17, to Sunday, January 18, 2026. The primary reason is to facilitate the annual solemn procession and the Sinulog Grand Parade, major highlights of the Feast of Sr. Santo Niño. These events are expected to cause major traffic congestion along N. Bacalso Avenue, where the CSBT is located. The Capitol has designated the CSBT compound itself to serve as a parking area for emergency responders, law enforcers, and Sinulog committee members during this period.

Regular bus operations at the CSBT are confirmed to resume on Monday, January 19, 2026.

New Passenger Routes and Facilities

For passengers traveling to Cebu City from the south, the designated arrival point will be the Il Corso Terminal at the SRP. From there, modern jeepneys will be available at the standard fare to transport people to key locations.

The modern jeepney routes from the SRP temporary terminal will include stops at:

  • Cebu North Bus Terminal
  • Plaza Independencia
  • Katipunan St. in front of Bible Baptist Church
  • Kinasang-an via F. Vestil St.
  • Cordova via CCLEX

Conversely, passengers originating from Cebu City and heading to southern destinations should wait for modern jeepneys on Katipunan Street. These vehicles will shuttle them to the temporary bus terminal on El Pardo Road at the SRP.

The Capitol has prepared the temporary terminal with 24/7 bus loading stations and ticketing counters. Additional amenities like tents, seating, and portalets have been set up for the convenience of waiting passengers.

V-Hire Terminal Also Relocated

In a related move, V-Hire units bound for destinations like Simala, Moalboal, Toledo, and Pinamungajan will also operate from a new temporary terminal. These vehicles will be stationed at the Taboan Market area near the Barangay Hall of Pahina Central in Cebu City during the Sinulog weekend.

This comprehensive rerouting plan aims to ensure the smooth flow of both the grand festival and essential provincial transportation, minimizing inconvenience for the thousands of expected commuters and devotees.
