The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) 7 has identified 57,015 potential household beneficiaries for the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) in Cebu and Bohol, as announced on June 20, 2026. These families were pinpointed through a special monitoring system operated by the Philippine Statistics Authority.

Validation process required for enrollment

Inclusion in the preliminary list does not guarantee automatic enrollment, according to DSWD 7 Director Shalaine Marie Lucero. “Inclusion in the list does not automatically guarantee enrollment in the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program,” she stated. To facilitate the process, the DSWD has posted beneficiary lists in local barangay halls and public spaces, along with registration schedules, locations, and required documents. The agency urges the public to review the lists and collaborate with DSWD staff during registration.

About the 4Ps program

The 4Ps is the Philippine government’s flagship poverty reduction initiative, launched in 2008 and institutionalized under Republic Act 11310 in 2019. It provides cash grants to low-income families for up to seven years, conditional on children’s school attendance and health center visits. In Region 7, there are an estimated 1.66 million households, with 174,348 already receiving 4Ps support.

Validation steps and required documents

During validation, DSWD workers will visit communities to verify families with qualified school-aged children and review official paperwork. Families should prepare documents such as children’s birth certificates, valid government IDs of parents or guardians, marriage certificates (if applicable), and school IDs or enrollment certificates. Additional documents like solo parent IDs, persons with disabilities (PWD) IDs, and affidavits of guardianship may be submitted if relevant.

Ensuring aid reaches the needy

The DSWD emphasizes that the rigorous validation process ensures government funds are directed to the most deserving households. Families who no longer qualify will be removed during this stage. As validation begins, thousands of families across Cebu and Bohol are preparing their documents, hoping to secure a spot in the program to support their children’s education and health.
