In a significant move for its global portfolio, the Filipino hospitality giant Hotel101 Global has officially secured a deal to develop a major new property in Italy. The Nasdaq-listed company, a subsidiary of DoubleDragon Corporation, announced it has entered into binding joint venture agreements to construct a 429-room Hotel101 in San Donato Milanese, Italy.
A Strategic European Foothold
This new project, which was formally disclosed on November 28, 2025, represents the company's second strategic entry into the European market. The development will be situated on a 1.4-hectare property strategically located near Milan Linate Airport, offering convenience for travelers. The company is targeting to complete construction by 2028.
The Asset-Light Condotel Model
True to its established business formula, the Italian project will operate under Hotel101's asset-light "condotel" model. This approach involves offering standardized hotel units that are sold to individual investors, who then place them in a rental pool managed by the company. According to its official filing, Hotel101 Global expects the fully sold project to generate approximately 85.8 million euros in sales revenue.
Part of a Global Scaling Strategy
The expansion into Italy is not an isolated event but a calculated step in Hotel101's aggressive international growth plan. The company has been actively launching projects across key global markets to establish its brand worldwide. Prior to this Italian venture, Hotel101 had already initiated developments in other major economies, including:
- Japan
- Spain
- The United States
This latest agreement underscores the firm's commitment to scaling its unique hospitality concept on a global stage, bringing a Filipino-born business model to one of Europe's most iconic destinations.
