The Pampanga Press Club, in a significant collaboration with the Pampanga Provincial Government, has officially announced the launch of free summer journalism workshops scheduled for March 14, 2026. This initiative aims to empower young minds with essential media skills during the break, fostering a new generation of informed communicators in the region.
Workshop Details and Schedule
The one-day training program will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the PDRRMC Training Hall, located within the Provincial Engineer’s Office. The venue is situated at the back of the OFW Hospital in Barangay Sindalan, City of San Fernando, Pampanga, providing a conducive environment for learning and interaction.
Expert Lecturers and Topics
Seasoned journalists from the media group, including notable figures such as Ria de Fiesta and Ric Gonzales, will serve as lecturers. These professionals are expected to share their extensive experiences and practical knowledge, offering participants valuable insights into the journalism industry.
The workshops will feature three distinct topics, each capped at 50 participants per session to ensure personalized attention:
- Basic Newswriting: Designed for junior and senior high school students, this session will cover the fundamentals of crafting news stories.
- Online Reporting with Mobile Phone Photography: Tailored for college students and out-of-school youth, this topic focuses on digital journalism techniques using accessible technology.
- Basic Photography: Also for college students and out-of-school youth, this workshop will introduce key photography skills for media purposes.
Participants are allowed to register for only one topic to maximize learning depth and focus.
