Davao de Oro Representative Launches Tulong Dunong Program for College Students
The Office of Second District Representative Leonel 'Jhong' D. Ceniza in Davao de Oro has officially announced the opening of applications for the Tulong Dunong Program (TDP), a financial assistance initiative designed to support deserving college students across the district. This program aims to provide crucial aid to those pursuing higher education by offering grants to help alleviate the financial burdens associated with academic expenses.
Financial Support and Application Details
Under the Tulong Dunong Program, qualified scholars will receive a grant of P7,500 per semester, which can be used to cover various educational costs such as tuition, books, and other school-related fees. The application period is set from March 11 to April 8, 2026, and interested students are urged to apply early to secure their spot. Applications must be submitted to the respective Congressional Sub-Offices located in their municipalities to ensure timely processing.
Congressman Ceniza emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, 'Education is one of our strongest tools for progress. Through the Tulong Dunong Program, we aim to support more students in achieving their dreams and building a better future.' He encouraged all eligible students to take advantage of this opportunity to further their academic pursuits without the stress of financial constraints.
Eligibility Requirements for Applicants
To qualify for the Tulong Dunong Program, applicants must meet specific criteria outlined by the office. These requirements include:
- Must be a Filipino citizen
- Must be an undergraduate student enrolled in State Universities and Colleges (SUCs), Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), or private higher education institutions with programs listed in the CHED Registry
- Must have a combined household gross income not exceeding ₱400,000 annually, supported by a Certificate of Indigency issued by the Punong Barangay
- Must not be a recipient of the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES), CHED Scholarship Programs (CSPs), or other national government-funded Student Financial Assistance Programs (StuFAPs), except for FHE and AICs
In addition to meeting these criteria, applicants are required to submit several documents, including the accomplished TDP-TES Application Form, a Certified True Copy of the Certificate of Registration or Enrollment for the first semester of Academic Year 2025–2026, the Certificate of Indigency signed by the Punong Barangay, and a recent 2x2 ID picture. These documents are essential for verifying eligibility and ensuring that the assistance reaches those most in need.
